Artist Note: Several years ago I contacted the American Quarter Horse Association to find out who would have some good-looking Quarter Horse foals nearby that I could paint. One of the names they gave me was Lee Blakeney. In the years since, I've painted dozens of mares and foals on her Creekwood Ranch. This particular bay mare was one of my favorites, and I've painted her with many colts.
