Artist's note: One of the cowboys who helped us work cattle had tacked a rattlesnake hide on the back of his saddle. I thought it was an idea for a painting. We live in western North Dakota where it is not unusual to see rattlesnakes. Obviously, the cowboy was the winner over the "Disputed Territory."
