Artist's Note: I love to watch a good ranch horse in the branding pen. Horse & rider need to be in constant communication with all the people, livestock, and commotion. I wanted to convey action, wind, smoke with loose, energetic brush strokes. In the middle of it all, a solid buckskin is holding a calf "Steady."
