Collection: Don Weller

Don Weller drew horses, cowboys and roped calves in high school and college rodeos. Graduating from Washington State University, he moved to California where he spent decades doing graphic design and illustration. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators. Realizing he had seen all the cement and palm trees he could stand, he moved to Utah. There, Don creates western paintings and rides his cutting horses.

His paintings have received many awards including The Jones Award from the Bosque Art Center, the Steel Dust Award from the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum, and the 2017’s Best of the Show from the Traces of the West. He had a retrospective show at Kimball Art Center in Park City, Utah, in 2016.
