Collection: Steve Devenyns
Raised in Colorado, Steve has always enjoyed wildlife, the West, and wide-open spaces. He is a horseman and outdoorsman, letting his time in the mountains and working with fellow ranchers serve as inspiration. Following an automobile accident in 1973, Steve spent his recuperation period exploring his creativity and began his career as an artist.
Steve is primarily self-taught and has been most influenced by many great painters, including Tucker Smith, Jim Wilcox, Robert Tommey, and most of all Ray Swanson.
Steve’s notable career has been widely celebrated, with honors including multiple Gold Medals at the Phippen Memorial Art Show, Artist’s Choice Awards at the Buffalo Bill Art Show and National Museum of Wildlife Art, the 2012 Signature Artist of America’s Horse in Art, and induction into the Academy of Western Artists in 2016.
