About America's Horse in Art Show & Sale
Learn more about America's Horse in Art Show & Sale.
America's Horse in Art explores the heritage, strength, and spirit of the American Quarter Horse through paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media artwork by top Western artists. The show is the primary fundraiser for the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum and is administered by the American Quarter Horse Foundation.
This exhibition is an invitation only art show focusing on traditional Western art showcasing the American Quarter Horse through various mediums, including oil, watercolor, pencil, acrylic, and bronze. Artwork is juried by an acceptance committee, who also selects the annual Steel Dust Award winner.
Following opening night, the remaining pieces will be available for purchase both online and in person. All artworks will be on display through October 12, 2024, with buyers receiving their piece(s) once the show has closed.

Steel Dust Award
The Steel Dust Award is selected by the acceptance committee based on the artistic merit of one art piece that showcases the Western lifestyle and the role the American Quarter Horse plays. The winner is announced at the opening reception, where the artist will be presented with a plaque and prize.
Steel Dust, the award’s namesake, was the first horse to bring attention to the qualities of the American Quarter Horse in the Southwest. Foaled in 1843 in Kentucky and brought to Texas in 1846, he was an outstanding racing horse and the most influential sire in the Texas lines of the American Quarter Horse.
